The profession of making rice flour in Dong Thap
has been around for over 100 years, concentrated
mainly in Sa Dec city and Chau Thanh district. Rice
flour is a famous local product, used as an ingredient
to produce rice noodles, flat rice noodles, rice vermicelli,
cakes and other foodstuff. The current number of
households participating in the craft village is 328
households, about 1,317 workers. Besides, there are
some other types of flour such as rice flour,
glutinous rice flour as well.
Currently, the craft village has 16 products that
have been recognized by the Provincial People's
Committee to meet 4-star OCOP standards, and
11 products to meet 3-star OCOP standards
In 2005, 4 communes Phu Long, Phu Thuan, Phu
Hoa, Tan Phu Dong and cluster 2, ward 2, Sa Dec
city are traditional craft villages which were
acknowledged by the Provincial People's
Committee
In 2006, the Provincial People's Committee
acknowledged craft villages in Tan My hamlet, Tan
Phu hamlet, Tan Phu Trung commune, Tay hamlet,
Tan Binh commune, Chau Thanh district.
