Over 100 years old, the shawl weaving village in Long Khanh A com-
mune (Hong Ngu district) currently has nearly 60 households doing tradi-
tional shawl weaving. Apart from traditional scrafs, many households
have invested in machinery and equipment for making new products
such as Ao Dai, bags, etc. to meet the needs of domestic and foreign
tourists. Long Khanh A shawl weaving village in Hong Ngu district was
recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a cottage industry
profession in 2003. On May 8, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism signed a Decision to introduce shawl weaving in Long com-
mune. Khanh A, Hong Ngu district (traditional handicrafts) on the List of
National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
